SLK Ballet School Full-Time Program
SLK Ballet School Full-Time Program for dancers age 12 – 19. It is an exclusive year-round training program designed to prepare the serious ballet student for a professional career in both classical and contemporary dance.
Under the direction of Sara Knight and her staff, SLK Ballet School offers classes in classical ballet, pointe, repertoire, contemporary, character, musical theatre, floor barre, pilates, pas de deux and stretch classes. Private coaching is available upon request.
SLK Ballet School's Full-Time Program syllabus is based on the Vaganova method and incorporates traditional Russian, English, French and Danish techniques. The school year runs from September into May with a two 2-week Summer Intensives offered during the months of June and August.
SLK Ballet School students gain performance experience throughout the year guesting with various companies throughout the U.S. and abroad, as well as their annual performance every June ending their school year. They are involved in outreach dancing in hospitals and schools around the New York City area and abroad including the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital (NYC), The Ronald McDonald House of Manhattan, Mount Sinai and Sloan Kettering (NYC), Success Academy (NYC), Holme J & I (Yorkshire, U.K.), Scholes J & I (Yorkshire, U.K.), Holmfirth High School (Yorkshire, U.K.).
SLK Ballet School has exchange programs with the Central School of Ballet, Masters of Ballet and English National Ballet School, in London, England. Select advanced students have an opportunity to study at these prestigious ballet schools.
